Fast Forward 2009-10

Fast Forward was a programme of dance-led combined arts projects for young people aged 11-19 years across 7 HFI managed estates in Islington delivered in partnership with Sadler's Wells. A team of All Change artists working with dance artists from Sadler’s Wells delivered tailor made projects with young people who have not experienced the arts before, which enabled them to: - develop skills working with professional artists; develop improved confidence and self-esteem; explore and express their ideas; experience professional dance and combined arts performances through visits to shows at Sadler’s Wells and Peacock Theatres; create their own original art works; and perform their work at Sadler’s.

The programme involved over 100 young people and led by a team of 7 artists. The lead art form was dance offered in combination with digital/visual arts, music and creative writing. The project took an outreach approach with artists working in a site-specific way with young people, responding to their interests and relationship to the place they live in. Dance performances, animations and films were created and showcased through the final event at Lilian Baylis Theatre at Sadler's Wells as part of the Connect Festival.
