LYRICISTS LITTLE LOUNGE

To celebrate post-pandemic creative renewal, local charity Key Changes: Positive Mental Health Through Music Ltd are inviting budding Islington lyricists to share their songs, rhymes, poetry and bars at special one-to-one recording sessions.

Participants will receive a one-off 1hr session with a music industry mentor “in person” at Key Changes professionally equipped studios at St Lukes Community Centre, or online for those unable to travel.

Key Changes mentors will encourage and support participants to develop lyrical content that reflects the issues and causes important to us and our communities as we move forwards through 2021. The process of creative collaboration aims to give participants a feelgood factor through being more connected and in control of mental wellbeing.

Recordings may be acapella or accompanied by music, beats or soundscapes. Post-recording, each participant has the option to attend a one-to-one Key Changes Progression Session at the Barbican Centre for support with preparing the recording for digital release. Professionally-produced finished mixes will be shared with participants and streamed on WORD2021 social media channels.

[All in-person sessions take place in COVID-safe venues that are risk-assessed in line with government guidelines.]
