The Journey Travelled

This project tells the stories of refugee women of all ages who made Islington their home over the past 60 years. 

Artists Poulomi Desai and Heather Barnett worked with individual women and women’s groups to capture and express their stories through video, photography, digital and visual arts.  The project culminated in an exhibition at Islington Museum, which expressed the experiences of women of all ages from around the globe, celebrating the contribution they have made to the borough.  A DVD, featuring all the work created, now forms part of Islington Museum's permanent collection.  All Change worked in partnership with Islington Refugee and Migrant Service and Islington Heritage Service to deliver this project.
