Hilldrop Festival & more...

Following All Bull, the Hilldrop Community Play in 1989, All Change and HACA (Hilldrop Area Community Association) continued a rich partnership over many years delivering creative projects with the local community. This included long term projects with young people and community festivals.

Hilldrop Festival 1991

Following on from the Hilldrop Community Play (1989), All Change, working with residents of local estates in the Hilldrop area and co-ordinated by Hilldrop Area Community Association, created the very first Hilldrop Area Festival – a week’s worth of summer arts events and entertainment culminating in a Grand Carnival Day.

All Bull 1989

All Bull - 'a tale of Hilldrop and imagination' took place in June '89 in Holloway School hall. Commissioned by Hilldrop Area Community Association (HACA), it also had the support of John Barnes Library, The Shaftsbury Society, Tufnell Park and Holloway Schools, Tufnell Park Neighbourhood Office and the Drovers Day Centre. The project, which built up over 12 months was featured in the Sunday Times, the Amateur Stage and on the BBC World Service. The project led to the formation of Escape Route, a theatre company made up of participants which ran for over 20 years, and over 20 years of partnership working on arts projects with HACA.
