Fran Lobo

Associate Artist

Fran Lobo is a singer, producer, performer and creative workshop leader from South London. She runs vocal and music workshops with All Change and has worked on Inspire!, the B Project, Lyrical, Recreate, Going Places and a special songwriting project at Richard Cloudesley School and is passionate about helping everyone to find their voice.

As a vocal leader and facilitator she has created workshops for Roundhouse, Southbank Centre, The Albany, Spitalfields Music, Cardboard Citizens, Talawa Theatre Co., London Bubble, Multi-Storey Orchestra, Creative Futures, Wigmore Hall and CD-R. As a choral leader and arranger she has led Goldsmiths Vocal Ensemble, Roundhouse Choir, Brixton Blues Choir, Some Voices, Voicelab at Southbank Centre and LIPS, a trans inclusive women's choir as well as being a vocalist, arranger and synth/percussion player in the all women choir Deep Throat Choir (Bella Union).

Her EP and single releases have been funded numerous times by the PRS Foundation and have picked up glowing reviews from DAZED, i-D, Gal-dem, FADER, CRACK Magazine to Highsnobiety, The Independent and Channel 4 Random Acts. Her music videos have screened at the TATE, Somerset House and Film 4. Over the past two years she has been a collaborator in the band UNKLE (James Lavelle), touring with them across Europe. Last year she created a sound installation 'Tune In' at Southbank Centre inspired by the work of Matthew Herbert who later invited her to support him at his sold-out show at The Barbican. She is currently working on her second sound and light installation in conjunction with Snape Maltings and the V&A as well as finishing several EPs and an album with support from Andy Ramsay (Stereolab), Bruno Ellingham and 3D (Massive Attack). Her most recent shows include Corsica Studios, St. Pancras Old Church, LAYLOW and SCALA. Her music straddles soul, R&B, electronica, art-pop and trip-hop.
