My arts hero is Pal Hansen.

He is a photographer who wanted to do a piece on young parents in a magazine called Marie Claire. He contacted me through a company called Coram which was helping me at the time when I had my son.

The reason I’ve chosen him is because of my personal experience with him. He made me open up a lot about being a young parent because of his approach to me because at the time me being a young mum was pretty much hidden as I was a bit shy about it all.

I was also very interested in photography. At the time I was studying A level photography and he really helped me.

He arranged to come and watch me for 4 hours doing everyday things with my son. He took over 100 photos of me and my family inside my home and outside.

One was published in Marie Claire magazine, and he used the others for his own work. I have included the page from Marie Claire in my folder.

I learnt that he is a portrait photographer and he has taken photos of a lot of famous people.

I really would like to meet Paul again as he helped me pass my photography A-level exam as he spent time letting me follow him on a work day and do a whole project on him. I have also included a bit of information on him and one of his portraits in my folder. This is taken from his website.
