Generations – At the end of the rainbow
All Change worked in partnership with Nitro to commission 3 writer/composer pairings – Alex Wilson & HKB FiNN; Zena Edwards & Arun Ghosh; and Yemisi Blake & Robert Mitchell – to work with 3 community groups – young parents; people from migrant communities through the NRPF (No Recourse to Public Funds) service at Islington Council; and older people at Alsen Day Centre – to explore what is ‘At the end of the rainbow’. Inspired by these creative interactions each pairing created a brand new composition which was performed live at Free Word on March 9 2011. This project marks the first collaboration between All Change and Nitro, and is about developing both the practice of working with artists in community settings and of encouraging new audiences to enjoy the arts. The live performances of each piece will be made available online at the end of the project.
